there are many people who live and/or work in the city's landfills. this one is just outside phnom penh, known as "smoky mountain." in order to survive, adults, children, and entire families can be seen looking for recyclables and anything else they may need. it is not uncommon for them to even search for food here. this little girl was playing while her mother and sister were collecting plastics to recycle.
